Hello. We recently had to replace our modem due to lightning which also affected our Orbi network. The chromcast was set to the Orbi network; we now need to forget that network and set it up with the new.
We have followed the instructions provided; however, when we reach the step to “forget network,” there isn’t an option to select “forget network.” Thus, we cannot figure out how to proceed.
Appreciate any help you might provide.

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the help here, JillG, DavidPierson, and Jeran.
Savannahs, we appreciate your efforts in doing the suggested steps. To cover all the bases, could you please try to manually connect to the Chromecast SSID? Here's how: Go to the phone settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again. Also, please make sure Bluetooth and the Local Network Access is enabled on your phone.
Let us know how it goes.
Best,
Jennifer

Hi @Savannahs ,
Do a factory reset and then set up as new. That should get you back to casting!

Thank you for replying. Followed the steps and here is what happened: Chrome cast reset and tv went blank and came up with a welcome screen to chrome cast. Went on google home app and tried to setup new chrome cast but it will not find the device.
appreciate any further help you can provide as I must be doing something wrong.
thanks!

Could be your network. See if this workflow can isolate the issue.

Switching your wi-fi band would be suggested, because it could be that the Chromecast is on 2.4GHz and the phone on 5GHz (or vice versa, not sure). If it was me, I would switch off 5GHz in the router because everything will connect on 2.4 but only some on 5.
If you are not sure how to do that, best to get an IT friend to assist.

Hi. We have not been able to resolve it with the provided suggestions…completed all recommended steps, factory resets and all but to no avail. Even requested another router from Xfinity and still will not find it. Thought about plugging it in to another person’s router to see if will work before we pull the plug.

Hey there Savannahs,
No problem, we can try a few more things. Just to double-check, what phone/tablet are you using to set up your Chromecast? Regardless, in addition to what Jill and David suggested, go ahead and follow the steps listed in this article. If you get any specific errors, or get stuck on a particular step, please let us know!
Best regards,
Jeran
