It sounds like you may have a defective unit.
Try the standard stuff (you may have already done this). It's a regular USB-C cable and power-block. If you have them, try different cables and blocks. It may be that the cable is bad.
And, of course, never plug into the USB port on the TV. Most TVs just don't push enough power through those ports because they are designed for data-sticks and not tiny computers.
If you just got the unit, you should be able to return it to the store.
