Bought a new chromecast. The one with the remote to replace an older chromecast. We replaced the older chromecast because we wanted one with a remote.
In the middle of watching a show you would see a notification that says “Wifi connection lost”. When going into the Wifi settings to check what happened, found that the actual Wifi on/off toggle turned itself off.
Reached out to support and they had me do troubleshooting with no avail. They replaced the device. Connected the new device and sure enough, same thing is happening. And of course support said they can replace it again.
So because support is completely unhelpful, has anyone had the same issue. I’ve tried to get it elevated within support but I don’t believe they really understand what’s happening and why I shouldn’t be happening. I find it bizarre that they would have the chromecast turn its Wifi toggle off on its own.
Thanks in advance!

It doesn't look like this is a unique issue. Here's some pages I found on it:

Hey there,
I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! I'd be happy to help figure out what's happening with your Chromecast, let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:
When did this issue start happening?
What country are you located in?
Does this occur on both a 5GHz network band and a 2.4GHz band?
What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran
