On a chromecast with google tv, with the update to a12 I don't have hdr10, dolby vision works fine but hdr10 doesn't work in any application.
Any advice?

I apologize about the late response on this, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that HDR10 issue? If not, I'd be happy to help you look into this, let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:
It's a possibility that the HDR setting on your TV might have been changed, so I would double-check your TV's picture settings to see if HDR is enabled. I would also check to see if the Chromecast is plugged into the best HDMI slot.
