Phone won’t communicate with Chromecast even after resetting everything.

Even after restarting my phone, router, tv, and chromecast my phone won’t cast to the device. It finds it and links to it but when it starts the connecting to Wi-Fi the phone connects but the chromecast doesn’t. Please help!

Hey there GabrialStark,

I'm sorry to hear your phone is having trouble seeing the Chromecast! I'd be happy to help you out, since I know these issues can be difficult to troubleshoot on your own. Let me just ask you a few questions to better understand what's happening:

 

  • What color is the LED light on the Chromecast?
  • Are you able to see the Chromecast from another device, such as a computer or tablet?
  • Is both your phone and Chromecast using the same network band? (2.4GHz)

Depending on the color of the LED light on the Chromecast, and if other devices can see the Chromecast, we can try a few things.
