When I do the following i cannot do the move now option. When I move individual apps I'm not sure if it is actually moving the app because the available space on the Google chromecast tv doesn't change. I'm able to see my drive that is connected to the hub. Was the move now option disabled? I have seen dozens of other people having the same issue.

I have followed the instructions below.
Use a Drive as Device Storage
Go to Settings > System > Developer options,
Scroll down and look for Force allow apps on external. Enable the feature.
Now go to Settings > System > Storage and select the drive you wish to use as device storage.
Click on Erase & format as device storage.
Confirm the action by clicking on the Format button in the next window.
This will take some time, depending on the speed and capacity of the drive.
You’ll be asked to move your data to the storage device when the format process is complete. Click on Move now or Move later as per your choice.

Hi Wayner1,
Thanks for reaching out. You could try to reboot your Chromecast and Hub. Resetting your Chromecast might also help. You can also visit this support website article and let me know if that helps.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Thanks for the reply but that doesn't help. I've spent weeks trying to figure it out and I'm convinced it is firmware related. There have been dozens of posts that I have read with people having the same issue. I'm in Canada and think the firmware is blocking the storage migration. It's very frustrating that I have spent the money on a hub and power block on something that Google says should work. I think it's a great product if it had the ability to increase the storage space. I guess I should of gone with a Nvidia shield which has no issues with storage.

Hi there,
We hear you and I understand why you feel that way. Could you please try to use a different drive or hub to isolate the issue?
Thanks,
Jennifer

I have tried several flash drives and 2 different ssd drives plus a Seagate drive. I have also tried 2 different hubs that appear to be functioning properly. Both allow power pass through. And see the drives. It seems like it is software or firmware related. Apon further investigation it seems to be Canada firmware related. One of the hub manufacturers stated that Canadian chromecast tv is not supported but US chromecast units are. Perhaps if it's possible this could be checked on the Google chromecast development side?

Hi Wayner1,
Thanks for trying to isolate the issue and for keeping me in the loop. I'd suggest you send feedback about this using the Google Home app. Here's how.
In the meantime, do you still have other questions and concerns?
Regards,
Jennifer

It's me again. I don't want to be a nudge but I'd like to check if you still have other questions and concerns. Feel free to let me know if you do.
Thanks,

Hi Jennifer, I don't have any other questions, I did send feedback but don't anticipate any kind of response. I think I'll move on to something that has the ability to add storage. Thanks for all your help. Wayner1
