Hi. I have a complex but cheap setup at home where I use a high quality monitor given to me from work as my main tv screen. I use a rival stream stick and use an HDMI audio splitter to extract the audio and send via rca into my stereo amp. However the volume adjust on that stick is designed to act as a remote control to a tv and does not adjust the actual output from the stick and hence i have no volume adjustment. If I replaced the stick by a Chromecast with Google TV would i be able to adjust the output of the stick itself via the remote so i had volume adjustment? Hope that made sense and thank you for your time and any help...

Hi Jeran
Thank you for your reply.
I actually took the plunge and bought a unit as it was relatively inexpensive. There is a setting where I can use the volume adjustment to control the output of the unit itself so it actually works perfectly. I am very happy with the setup!
Thanks for taking the time.

Hey there LGF,
I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! Were you able to figure out your Chromecast setup? If not, I'd be happy to help you out. In this case, I don't think a Chromecast with Google TV would work for you. The Chromecast is not designed to work with an HDMI audio splitter, so in the best case, you wouldn't be able to control the sound properly, and in the worst case, you wouldn't get any sound at all. The Chromecast works best when plugged directly into the TV, using either the TV speakers or a Bluetooth speaker.
I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.
Best regards,
Jeran
