I am trying to cast from a Windows 11 desktop to a Chromecast. I am in a school, operating on the school wifi. The room that I am trying to cast in (hereafter referred to as "The Great Room") is surrounded by other classrooms, several of which are also using chromecasts. When I click "Cast" in google chrome on my Windows 11, I can see several of the chromecasts in other classrooms, but not the one in The Great Room that I am trying to cast to. However, I can detect The Great Room Chromecast from a chromebook located on the same desk as the windows 11.
The Great Room Chromecast has been updated and I have done a factory reset on it and I am sure that it is setup on the same wifi network as the Windows 11 desktop that I am trying to cast from.
Is there anything that I can do to troubleshoot the specific connection between the Windows 11 desktop and the Great Room chromecast? Is it weird that I can see the Great Room Chromecast on my chromebook but not on the Windows 11 desktop, or is this an understandable issue related to wifi interference issues?

Thanks for following up. It ended up being a network issue. There was a setting on our school’s network that was prohibiting cast between a Ethernet connected device and a wireless connected Chromecast. Once he adjusted the setting, all the connected casts became available on the Windows 11.
Thank you for your time! The issue is resolved for now.

Hi schooltechguy,
Thanks for posting and sorry for the late response. Let's sort this out.
A few questions — are you getting a message "No cast devices found"? Is the Google Chrome browser version updated? Did this previously work or did the issue begin recently? Ensure that the browser used is Google Chrome and that it’s up-to-date and check the antivirus of the computer [Note: There are cases (mostly in Windows) wherein the Chromecast device fails to work after the antivirus finishes an update. If this happens, call your antivirus provider].
Also, please visit this support website article to see the additional steps.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Jennifer
