Yamaha soundbar not repeating sound up/down

The sound volume controls won’t repeat when holding chromecast remote volume controls. Only one volume step change per click.

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Kindly help us with your setup with the description below:

1. Chromecast with Google TV connected to TV’s HDMI port, then TV’s HDMI-ARC to the soundbar. The Chromecast Voice Remote is paired with the soundbar via IR.
2. Chromecast with Google TV connected to the TV’s HDMI port, then the TV’s HDMI-ARC to the soundbar. The Chromecast Voice Remote controls the TV’s volume via CEC, which the TV passes to the soundbar via HDMI-ARC.
3. Chromecast with Google TV connected to the soundbar's HDMI port, then the soundbar’s HDMI-ARC to the TV. The Chromecast Voice Remote is paired with the soundbar via IR.
4. Chromecast with Google TV connected to the soundbar's HDMI port, then the soundbar’s HDMI-ARC to the TV. The Chromecast Voice Remote controls the soundbar’s volume via CEC, while the video is passed to the TV via HDMI-ARC.

If it didn’t fall under any of these, kindly share with us your actual setup. You may as well view these setups as options for how it would work for you. Based on your description, it seems that there’s nothing wrong with the buttons. The consistency, though, depends on how these devices communicate or pass the actual task to the next device, which makes this somehow complicated.
