casting from youtube

When casting from youtube with ios on my Mac i can get sound only with NO PICTURE

Or picture ONLY with NO SOUND

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your Chromecast. Let's sort this out.

 

A few questions: is this only happening when casting videos from YouTube or across all Chromecast-enabled apps? Have you tried using a different device? How far is the Chromecast from the router?

 

Try these steps:

  1. Make sure the Chromecast is powered on and the TV is on the right input.
  2. Make sure that the device you use with Chromecast is not muted (Examples: TV, mobile device, etc.).
  3. Connect a different HDMI device to the same HDMI port where the Chromecast is plugged in. If the issue persists, it's likely not a Chromecast-specific problem.
  4. Plug the Chromecast on a different HDMI port on your TV.
  5. Reboot your Chromecast.
  6. Unplug the TV and plug it back in after 1 minute.
  7. Check if there's no audio or video issue occurs from all apps or only when casting certain apps.
  8. Cast the same Chromecast device on a different TV (if possible).
  9. Try to use a different mobile phone or computer.
  10. Factory reset your Chromecast.
