chromecast keeps rebooting

My chromecast randomly reboots while streaming
It happens after 1-15 minutes. 

I've tried running my chromecast on different TV and with different power supplies. even tried 2.5 and 5 ghz wifi
tried streaming from different phones and from imac

I did all the resets i could find, 

entering the wifi settings / connecting to home app then always takes a long time before it finaly works

It was working just fine.
The device is getting pretty hot . hotter then you would expect.
i do not think it can be fixed, but i am hoping to be proofed otherwise

Maybe worth a shot to try a different power supply if you have any laying around. 🙂

I'm having the same issue with multiple chromecast Ultra's... Is this a hardware failure or was an updated pushed that caused an issue?

Josh9, I'm sorry to hear that you're also experiencing the same issue with your Chromecast Ultra devices. Have you tried the steps shared by the original poster and our product specialist? If yes, how was it?

Jennifer,

Yes I have tried the above mention steps. The device continues to reboot over and over even after factory default and changing out adapters and trying other power outlets - it appears to  sometimes occur at random, but it is very consistent.
