Nest heats when set to cool. On heat it just runs the fan. I am in a
condo with a cooling tower on the roof. Unit in my condo is all
electric. My wires are Y. G, C, W and R.I have triple checked the wires.
I have reset the Nest. I did a factory reset...
New install, gas forced hot air: info shows electric, forced hot air.

Hey Mel... I guess you didn't read my replies, above.In a nutshell: I am
returning the nest thermostat and would not recommend them either.
Incidentally, I don't remember reading anywhere, in plain english, that
switching the W wire into the O/B term...
I had to call a HVAC company. Got a fellow willing to suggest some
things. Essentially, the W wire had to go to O/B. That solved the "heat
when set to cool" and vice versa . Programming the darn thing is another
whole issue. They tend to walk you in ...
