In the months leading up to Feb it had been announced that after Feb you would no longer be able to use media as an alarm. You can effectively still do this with Script Editor.

Unlike an Aeotec (Smart Things) or Aqara or Switchbot Hub where you can have things running locally that isnt the case with Google Currently. Keep in mind that those other ecosystems I mentioned only enabled local running in the past 2 or so years
