Returned nest wifi pro 2 years ago. Same problem today

I'm am a(was) Google fan. Purchased google  Wi-Fi pro 2 years ago and was having an issue with getting accurate speed tests from the Google home app. 1 gig circuit, 950 down in legacy nest wifi and now 500 down on pro product.

Countless hours wasted with tech support. After reading comments I was assured that this was fixed. I repurchased the product and I'm having the same problem. More wasted time on tech support. Now what ?

Google please help

Hi @S170md1,

I understand your frustration. It's certainly not ideal to experience a significant drop in speed test results after upgrading to Google Wifi Pro, especially after dealing with tech support previously. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue and hopefully get the most out of your Google Wifi Pro:

Optimize Google Wifi Pro Setup:

  • Placement: Ensure your Google Wifi Pro router and points are positioned optimally. Avoid placing them near walls, thick objects, or electronic devices that can interfere with the signal. Refer to Google's guide for ideal placement: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7183150?hl=en
  • Network Settings: Check your Google Wifi Pro settings in the Google Home app. Look for options like "Network Optimization" or "Channel selection" and see if adjusting these settings can improve performance. Some ISPs might have specific channel recommendations.

Confirm Google Wifi Pro Firmware:

  • Updates: Make sure your Google Wifi Pro is running the latest firmware version. Updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements. Check for updates within the Google Home app.

Advanced Troubleshooting:

  • Factory Reset: If none of the above solutions work, consider performing a factory reset on your Google Wifi Pro system. This will erase all custom settings and restore it to factory defaults. Be sure to back up any network configurations before proceeding.
  • Contact ISP: If the issue persists after exhausting these troubleshooting steps, it's possible the problem lies with your ISP's connection. Contact your ISP to ensure there are no service disruptions or limitations on your end.

On the other hand, please fill out our contact us form and you will be contacted.

Regards,
