Google Home Gen1 stopped displaying whether temperature

My Google Home Gen1 stopped displaying temperature on the screen (including photo frame, clock, etc.). It displays 2 dashes instead of digits ( - -). Restarting, changing settings using Google Home application, turning off/on displaying whether does not help.

However, Google Home 2nd Gen display temperature at the same time.

Does anyone see the same behavior now?

HI at_AT,

Thanks for posting here in the community forum. It sounds like your Google Home Gen 1 is not working as you expected. Don't worry; let's try to perform some steps to get your device back on track.

  • Check the location settings: Verify that the Google Home app can access your device's location. An accurate location setting ensures you receive weather updates specific to your area.
  • Update the App: Make sure you're using the latest version of the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
  • Factory Reset: If nothing else works, a factory reset of your device might be necessary. This will erase all your settings and data, so back up anything important before proceeding.

Regards,

Daniel.

Thank you Daniel for your advice.

The only working way was a Factory Reset.  This device worked about 10 month after previous setup without any issues. I did not change any settings after that.  As I wrote before, I have another Google Home (Gen 2) device which displays temperature and air quality while Gen 1 device stopped to do that.

Neverminded, factory reset solved the issue for now. I was interested in whether someone else faced the similar issue or not.
