Playback audio cuts out

Whenever I play back a recording from one of my Nest Hub Max, on my iPhone Nest app, the audio is completely chopped up (cuts out continuously), I cannot understand even a simple slow conversation because it cuts out constantly.

Hi @DavidG2,

That sounds frustrating! Choppy audio playback from your Nest Hub Max recordings in the Google home app can be caused by a few reasons. Here are some steps you can try to fix it:

General Troubleshooting:

  1. Check your internet connection: A weak or unstable Wi-Fi connection can cause audio playback issues. Make sure your phone and Nest Hub Max are connected to a strong and stable network.

  2. Restart your devices: A simple reboot can often resolve temporary glitches. Restart your Nest Hub Max and your iPhone.

  3. Update apps: Ensure you're running the latest versions of the Nest app and the Nest Hub Max software. Updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements.

  4. Clear app cache (iPhone): On your iPhone, try clearing the Nest app's cache. This can sometimes remove temporary data that might be causing playback issues. (Instructions for clearing app cache vary depending on your iPhone model and iOS version. You can search online for specific steps.)

  5. Factory reset the Nest Hub Max (last resort): If none of the above solutions work, you may need to factory reset your Nest Hub Max. This will erase all your settings and customization, so only try this as a last resort.

Nest Hub Max Specific:

  • Check recording quality: If the choppiness was present during the original recording on the Nest Hub Max, there might not be much you can do to improve it in playback.

Nest App Specific:

  1. Reinstall the Google home app: If none of the above work, try reinstalling the Google home app on your iPhone. This will remove any corrupted data that might be causing playback issues.

  2. Report the problem: If the issue persists, you can report it by using the feedback form.

Best,

Brandon.
