Flood Lights Turn off When Should Stay On

bradleychambers

When I manually turn my flood lights on, they turn off within 60 seconds. They also only stay on for a minute when trigger via motion despite the setting being set for 5 minutes. There are 3 separate lights on 3 different breakers professionally installed by an Electrician. Does anyone know why this would be happening?

Hi everyone,

@bradleychambers, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To confirm, what are the troubleshooting steps you've done so far? In case you haven't done any, try changing the settings from 5 minutes to 1 minute then test it if it works as expected. After that, change it back to 5 minutes and see if there are any changes. You may also try performing a simple restart. Let us know how it goes.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,
Emerson

Hello bradleychambers,

I'm dropping by to ensure that everything is covered here. How's it going with your Nest Camera? Were you able to read the information and check the link I've shared? In case you have an update, you know where to find us.

Best,
Emerson

No, it’s still happening. They will not stay on even when I manually turn them on

Hey bradleychambers,

Thanks for getting back to us. We would suggest you try to reset your Nest Camera to the factory default. Remove it from your Google Home app and re-add it.

To reset:

1. Locate the reset button on the back of your Nest Camera.

  • Tip: The reset button on your Nest Camera is located on the back of the camera head.

2. Press and hold the button:

  • At 10 seconds, the status light will flash yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
  • At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the camera starts the factory reset, and you’ll hear a confirmation tone.

3. Release the button. Your Nest Camera will restore to its factory settings.

4. After the factory reset, your Nest Camera will appear as “Offline” in the app until you remove it.

To remove it from the app, open the app, tap on the device, then tap Settings> Remove device > Confirm.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Emerson

Ok that did fix it. Any idea why that would happen? One of my Flood lights is REALLY high up. Is there a way to remotely factory reset it from the app or web site?

I reset the 3rd camera after climbing 20 feet in the air on a ladder.

Now - ALL THE LIGHTS ARE SHUTTING OFF AGAIN.

I've spent so much money and time on these flood cams. This is pathetic.

I would really appreciate additional support here. I have 3 nest flood cams, 2 thermostats, Nest Aware, etc. I expect these things to work better than this. Please have someone reach out ASAP.
