I would like to by pass the power adapter and plug into an external USB outdoor outlet.  My camera's power adapter output is 5V DC 1.4A.   if the outdoor outlet w USB supports USB A will I be safe with just plugging into outdoor outlet?  Are there any proven solutiuons?  Wife does not want power adapter mounted outside (hide wires)

Hey mcirincione,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Google Nest Community.

We strongly recommend that you use the cable and adapter that came in with your Nest camera as they are made sure to provide the required power requirement for the device.

Best,

Melba
