Chromecast 3 5GHz Channels specs

Hello Google team,

Just a simple question, which are the WIFI 5GHz channels supported by "Chromecast 3" and "Chromecast with Google TV" for Chile?

Currently the legislation accepts WIFI 5GHz bands U-NII-1 / U-NII-2A / U-NII-3 but my Chromecast 3 only connects to U-NII-1 bands. Could you confirm the supported bands please?

Thanks in advance

Hey there ParatrooperCH,

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! Were you able to figure out that connection question? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as the information seems a bit hard to find online. The Chromecast devices are designed to work on the 5 GHz Wi-Fi channel ranges of 36–48. This would coincide with the U-NII-1 Wi-Fi band.

I hope that helps, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran

Thanks Jeran!

The info about the channels is what I was looking for. Id there any way to ask Google or Chromecast team to enable the funcionality on the other channels permited in the country? Because those channels have a low power allow in Chile so the reach is not the best.

Thanks in advance!

Hey there ParatrooperCH,

No problem at all! The best way to ask Google to enable specific features is by submitting feedback via the Google Home app. Google takes all feedback seriously, and the more feedback they receive regarding a specific feature, the more likely they are to prioritize it.

I hope that helps, and let me know if you have any more questions.

Best regards,

Jeran
