Chromecast wifi pairing problem

  • Hello guys! This problem started 1 week ago, i was about to cast hbo to my google chromecast and the device wasnt paired with my wifi so i began the usual ser up where you go step by step (bt and wifi) to connect the chromecast but suddenly my wifi network stoppd showing up on the list on my phone. I restart my modem, check for mac adress filters, 2.4 and 5ghz both on and working, firewalls, security and everything was working fine my pc working with the router, laptop was able to select between 2.4 and 5ghz, ipad, iphone, android devices too but not the chromecast. I ran a factory reset on the chromecast and still the wifi is not showing up on the google home setup. Yes, i restart the modem multiple times, all my devices works with the wifi but the chromecast detects others connections (neighbour) but not mine. Any way to connect chromecast to a pc and run a troubleshooter? The usual steps from google arent enough to solve this problem 😕  thanks for your time and sorry if you dont understand something but english is not my first languaje

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us — we appreciate it! To cover all the bases, what's the LED status on your Chromecast? What type of Chromecast device do you have? Please try the steps listed below and let me know how it goes:

 

  1. Check if the Chromecast device is within 15 to 20 feet of the setup device and the Wi-Fi router. 
  2. Try to connect to a different Wi-Fi network or a mobile hotspot.
  3. Force close the Google Home app.
  4. Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  5. Reboot your Chromecast and mobile devices.
  6. Perform another factory reset on your Chromecast. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.
