No picture only voice

My Chromcast was working properly until that something happen and Chromcast went offline. After many attempts to fix this was not successful. I decided to reboot to default factory setting an setup the device again. Setup was successfully device was activated and live. Unfortunately the Chromcast do only voice but no picture even if nothing to casting. I have follow all procedures as mention in different location but no way only voice and no picture…. I don’t know how can I fix this problem. Is the HDMI port defect, is the Chromcast defect ? How can I tested ? Hope somebody have an idea

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. Let's check this further.

 

A few questions: what type of Chromecast do you have? How far is the Chromecast from the router? How far are you from the TV when you try to cast?

Give these additional steps a try:

 

  1. Check if the Chromecast firmware is updated.
  2.  Make sure that the Android, iOS device, or the Google Chrome browser is up-to-date.
  3. Check proximity of TV to casting device (phone, tablet, or computer), and Wi-Fi router. Ideally, they should be less than 15 to 20 feet (4 to 6 meters) apart from each other, with one or no walls in between.
  4.  Reboot the Chromecast, casting device, and router.
  5. Disconnect and reconnect the casting device from the Wi-Fi network.
  6. Check if your device or laptop has a power saving setting. If it's enabled, disable it.
  7. Plug in your Chromecast in a different HDMI port on your TV.
  8. Plug it into a different TV screen if one is available.
  9. Perform another factory reset on your Chromecast. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.
