Recording a single show chromecast hd

Is it impossible to record just 1 episode of a show? I do this quite frequently with cable and it seems like a significant downfall if not possible.

Chromecast is not a DVR.  It can't record anything.

If you subscribe to YouTube TV, they have a cloud-DVR service and that app works on Chromecast with Google TV devices.

There are other services (like Hulu-Live) that also offer this feature.

Thank you. You tube TV has a less than satisfactory search for example I keep searching on Superbowl and NFL and NFL Superbowl... and the actual game never comes up. Also their cloud recording basically sucks. The only option is record everything with the same name, new, repeat...I've already in 1 day got about 25 Blue Bloods and many more were recording today lol. I tried to go in and delete most except 1, but thete is no way to delete on YouTube TV. otherwise I like the access to programming of everything I ever watch +++. I researched Hulu and it gives the options to record like cable and DVR. I hope the search function is better.  But thank you.
