Hot water icon on thermostat

Can anyone tell me, what the following means.

On my nest app, I have the heat and water function. Under the 'ON' in the water appears a white dot. This seems to have an effect on whether the water schedule activates or not.

What is this white dot referring to.

Thanks for reaching out — I'd love to know more about it. In what country are you located? Is the icon shown both in the app and on the Nest Thermostat?

I noticed it on the App but it is possible it was showing on the thermostat also but I did not look. It is gone now but it does come and go.

When it is noticed on the app, the water is set to come on or is boosted but it does not heat up and the screen on my phone would usually go orange when boosted or on but stays dark when this white spot ispresent.
