Nest heat link died

Hassan69

Hi

My heat link has died yesterday, i have tried everyting that i have read from switching off and on the fuse box to changing the fuse at the switch that is connected to the heatlink. The nest thermostat is working as i have charged it and reconnecting it the message basically saying there is no power.

The warranty has just finished earlier this month, so what are my options.

This is a know fault that NEST have failed to rectify.  There are lots of other posts on the same topic. You will have to contact NEST who will send you a newheat link, but you will need to get a gas engineer in o fit a temporary thermostat.  Nest will also pay £100 towards the costs of this and fitting the new heatlink, but the whole process is a major inconvenience and will take over a week to sort out.  It has happened to me twice!!

Hi there! Thanks to both of you for posting. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. I would like to help you out. Hassan, could you please answer to the following questions:

1. How long has your thermostat been installed for?
2. What is showing on the Nest thermostat display? Is there any code on the thermostat or in the Nest App?
3. Have you had any power cuts recently?
4. Have you had any work done on your electrical or heating systems recently?
5. How many zones are present in the setup?

Yes--looks like you have still not solved the problem of the heatlinks failing at about 18 months to 2 years and the horrendous problems this causes your customers. There is obviously a design fault that you fail to recognise. I am going to get rid of all my Nest thermostats. I cannot be without heating for over a week each time the Heatlink fails! You seem to think that you are offering a great deal by offering to replace the Heatlinks and pay a modest contribution to the costs, but this does not cover the financial costs, or the costs to my reputation when my guests freeze for a week!

I'm really sorry for the situation that was created by this issue, and by the experience that you had. I'll pass your feedback further, and you can be sure that it will be taken into account. Is there anything else me, or my colleagues can assist you with?
