Google Home won't connect to LG soundbar

I've recently bought an LG SN9YG which requires using Google Home to configure the WiFi.

When I try to connect through Home it says that the device needs to be activated before setup and directs me to this page: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/11413815?visit_id=638150201377889516-462398838&p=device... which says that I need to use a companion app.

The LG companion app directs me to connect through Google Home... And now I'm stuck in a loop.

Has anyone had anything similar or know how to fix?

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community and sorry for the delayed response. 

Please note that we have very limited support on third party speakers with built-in Google Assistant like LG soundbar. Since you've tried the basic steps, you might need to reach out to LG support for better assistance.

For Google Home/Nest speakers and display, you just have to make sure that your phone/tablet is connected to the same network then you should be able to set it up.

Let us know if you have questions or concerns about the Google Home/Nest devices, otherwise; I'll close the thread after 24 hours.
