Nest Audio won't connect to iphone, keep getting "try again" message

We just purchased a Google Next Audio.  We follow all of the steps as instructed, process goes well, says Connected then an immediate message comes up "something went wrong, speaker may be set up but we could not communicate with it from your iphone".  We went in and updated all privacy settings and enabled local network access and hit try again and did the same thing.  We've done this 5-6 times, we reset the Google Audio and we restarted our phones with no luck, can anyone help?
