Nest mini (2nd gen) doesn’t want to play a personal playlist (and my nest hub does…)

When I ask my google nest hub to play a personal playlist, it works perfectly. But when I ask the same question to my nest mini, I get the answer “try this playlist that I found” or “ Try this music station based on your spotify playlist”.  All the speakers are connected to the same account. If I stream from my phone it also works, all my speakers are in the same group so I don’t think something is wrong in the settings. I just don’t understand why it works with the nest hub and not with the nest mini? It can’t be because I have a free account because in that case it wouldn’t work on my nest hub either.

Does anyone have the same problem, or even better… a solution?

Thanks.

Hey there,
I understand that these issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Please let me know.

Best regards,

Hello Garrett

I was just asking myself if it was possible that this function works on my nest hubs, but not on my nest mini's... I checked all the settings etc, all my speakers are connected to the same spotify, home,...

For now I have worked around the problem by setting up a routine. But if I ask the nest mini's directly, he never plays my playlist and will always suggest a station or playlist that he found based on my own playlist.

Regards

Kelly.

Hey there Kelly,

Sorry to hear about the issues that you're having with this, but I'm glad that you were able to find a workaround.

You should be able to have the same functionality in terms of playing a certain playlist between both devices as long as you have your the media player (Spotify or Apple Music, etc.) set up correctly.

You can always unlink and relink the media from the device or account and try it again.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,
Garrett DS
