Playing Audiobooks on Speaker Groups

Hello! I am trying to have my audiobooks broadcast to a group of speakers. My library uses the app Libby by Overdrive (sometimes just called Libby). So I'm looking to use Libby with a group of speakers. I'd love to have my books play while I do chores around the house, so I installed speakers in each room.

Using the speakers at all has been frustrating, tbh. I use Tidal for music and it is not suggested in Google Home so I've only been able to use my speakers one at a time via Bluetooth casting. Ideally I'd love to play Tidal on a group of speakers too. However, Google seems to make it very difficult to use the apps I want (instead of the ones they recommend).

How can I cast to a speaker group? Or if casting isn't an option, is there another way to get my speakers to play my audio?

Hi zombilex,

Thanks for posting and apologies for the inconvenience. May I know what country you are in? Which Nest speakers are we working with?

About your concern, yes, you can stream audiobooks from Libby to your Google Home using Bluetooth:

  1. Pair your mobile device with your Google Home or Amazon Echo:
  2. Once paired, connect your mobile device to your Google Home or Amazon Echo.
  3. Play your audiobook in Libby.

Note: Casting from your Libby app to your speaker group may or may not work, especially with Bluetooth since the function is only applicable on one device.

Could you confirm if you’re able to see the cast icon on your Libby app and see if your speaker group pops up?

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Dan
