The future of sleep sense (Nest Hub 2nd Gen)

I purchased the 2nd Gen Nest Hub solely for the Sleep Sense feature. I simply just want to know how my sleep was for the night. I do not use any other fitness tracking devices (watches, etc.), nor do I need or want to use any apps to track anything else.

Will the Nest Hub still have sleep tracking ability on the device itself once 2023 comes and is supposedly rolled into the Fitbit app? Or will that be disabled unless I pay the subscription fees?

It would be nice if Google kept "limited" sleep tracking functions within the Hub device itself - regardless if customers choose to get Fitbit premium. Otherwise, it's a bit of a bait and switch to hobble the device's capabilities later on.

Does anyone know for sure what the future of the Hub's sleep sense feature will be next year?

At some point in 2023 sleep sensing will be rolled into Fitbit Premium which is like $80 a year. Amazon intend on charging as well for their new sleep tracker in 2023.

I saw the Amazon unit, which is substantially cheaper per month. However, they still offer basic functions for free. But that's beside the point.

Essentially, Google installed sophisticated hardware sensors into their Hub that can only be utilized by paying a monthly fee. Like buying a car with an air conditioner that is disabled unless you pay to "unlock."

What I was inquiring about was whether (like Amazon), Google will offer a "free" version for those who don't need (or want) all those extra bells and whistles. I just want to see my daily sleep scores on the Hub itself.

I'm hoping Google does - as it's important to remain competitive.

My main concern is to keep the current sleep tracking functionality within the device for those who do NOT have smartphones, Fitbit devices, or apps.
