Google Home Mini won't link to my account?

johncopeman

I have a google home mini and a nest unit.

the other morning, for no apparent reason, they both became unlinked from my google account.

Since then, I have tried every route offered up by the help forums and they always fail to configure at the last step of the setting up process.

I have even thoroughly investigated my wifi in case there was an issue there, but again to no avail!

I honestly have absolutely no idea why they stopped working, and I have equally no idea why none of the methods suggested work, and I seriously have tried them all at least twice...

Is there a setting in my google account that could have been updated or altered that could be impacting this situation, because I honestly don't know what else to try?

Just for clarity, I have:

Uninstalled and reinstalled google home on my phone

Factory reset both devices

Rebooted both devices

Created a new home in google home

Deleted and reinstalled the devices in google home a number of times

Ensured that they are connected to the same wifi as my phone

One final note that may mean something to someone, google assistant is working fine on my phone, using the same google account that the devices were connected to and that I am trying to reconnect them to?

I am completely lost and don't know where to go for help

Confused!

I'm having the exact same problem, and like you I have tried everything on your list.  Ever figure out how to fix it?

Hey there,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

Since this thread hasn't had activity in a while, we're going to close it to keep content fresh. I would recommend trying another factory reset on the device to ensure everything is good to go.

We hope you were able to get the help you need, but if the issue persists feel free to create a new thread, and provide as many details as possible so that others can lend a hand.

Best regards,
Jake
