Google Home app crashing on Pixel 7

Hello all, for around 2-3 weeks now, my Google Home app keeps crashing. Specifically, I have a Nest mini 2nd gen and a Nest Hub 2nd gen; whenever I try to change the equalizer on either of the devices, the Home app just crashes, no matter if the devices are playing any content or not. Here are my specs:

  • Google Pixel 7
  • Android 15
  • Security patch: 5th November 2024
  • Google Home version: 3.25.1.4

Hi valemaio2,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I’m sorry to hear that your Google Home app keeps crashing for around 2 or 3 weeks, no matter if your Nest Mini 2nd generation or Nest Hub 2nd generation are playing any content or not. Thank you for sharing with us that you are using a Google Pixel 7 mobile device, Android 15 with security patch 5th November 2024, and using the Google Home app version 3.25.1.4. I would be more than pleased to help you with this inconvenience, so don't worry. I would be more than pleased to help you with this inconvenience, so don't worry.

Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

Have you tried to restart your mobile device?

Have you tried to remove and reinstall the Google Home app?

What is the distance between your Google devices and the router?

Did you receive any error messages in the Google Home app or from your Google devices?

Are your Google devices currently linked to a 2.4 or 5 GHz WiFi network?

Besides your router, do you have more access points to your WiFi network?

Is there another Bluetooth signal available?

Have you tried to set up your Google devices with another mobile device?

Are your Google devices visible in the list of devices in your Google Home App?

Could you please check if there are wireless interferences like walls and floors, nearby Wi-Fi networks, other electronics, cordless phones, baby monitors, microwaves, Bluetooth devices, and wireless video equipment?

Are you using a WiFi network or a hotspot?

Thanks for your kind attention; I will be looking forward to your answer.

Sincerely,

Virna
