I have had the problem for some time now that two Home Connect appliances remain in the Google Home while the Home Connect app is not linked to Google Home.
These devices are set to offline and when I want to connect the Home Connect app, I get a message that no compatible devices were found.
If I add Home Connect via another account, they are simply found and added. They will still remain offline under the other account.
I've tried everything but nothing works to get rid of these two offline devices.
In any case, I find it strange that you cannot remove devices without disconnecting the entire associated app. It may be that you do not want to see certain parts of a linked app at all.
It would therefore be nice to be able to remove devices without having to disconnect the associated app.
As long as that is not yet possible, how do I remove the two "unwanted" devices from my account?
Thank you.

Hi heula,
Thanks for reaching out. Check out this link and see if Home Connect is still linked. If so, you can remove it from there. Once done, relink it to the Google Home app.
Hope this helps.

Juni

Hi Juni,
The link was still there, I removed it but the tw offline devices were still in my Google Home visible.
I reconnected to Home Connect and I was able to see the two devices online while adding them but once they were added they were offline again and was I back where I started from.
Should any connected Home Connect device that is online or offline be removed when the link is removed? If yes, how long should this take?
It is so strange, when I connect Home Connect to a second account all goes well.
Thanks.

Hi there,
Got it. Create a new home and link your device there then observe if this will make a difference? See the steps below on how to create a new home structure.
Note: You can have up to 5 homes in your account.
Thanks,
Juni

Hi Juni,
Created a new home and moved the two offline Home Connect devices in the new house.
Checked if the link already excixted and linked Home Connect again to the new house but no new devices were found.
Same goes for the other house, no new devices were found.
Any other way to remove the devices?
Thanks,
Alex

2 weeks further and no reaction yet. Problem is still there
Please give me a (us) an option to delete items without having to remove the app itself, in my case the Home Connect app.
If you can, please remove the devices for me.
Thanks.

Hi heula,
I understand and am sorry for the delay. Try to reset the devices that you are trying to connect to Google Home and relink them to their native app. Once it's done and it’s working on their app, relink it to the Google Home app once more. It seems like it is still linked under your email on their end; that’s why you were able to link it using another account before.
Keep me posted.

Juni

I have not yet had time to remove the appliances from the Home Connect app and add them again.
I will do that soon to see if everything works normally again in Google Home.

I have removed the devices from the Home Connect app and try to remove them from Home but still they won't go away.
Re-added the devices to Home Connect and try to add the Home Connect to Home but still the same message "Can't find any compatible devices.
That and the constant connection loss with Homey (no idea on what side that problem is, Google or Athom?) does make Google Home not the best product at the moment for me.
I still don't get it why we can't just remove devvices without having to remove the whole app/addon from Home. For me that just is not logic.
For now I give up that this issue will be solved.
Thanks.
