Home unable to connect to Wyze home

James618

My Google home used to connect to my Wyze account. Approximately 2 months ago, I disconnected wyze home with the intention to reconnect it. (I bought the new wyze V3 doorbell and needed it to connect to my Google home.) To date, I have not been able to reconnect and continue to get the same error: "Could not reach Wyze home. Please try again. "

The troubleshooting I have tried: uninstall and reinstall both apps, create a new Google home, try other people's phones in my family, try BlueStacks on a computer, changed passwords on my wyze account, and a lot more.

I don't know what else to do. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi James618,

We appreciate your efforts in taking all those steps. When you tried to use other people’s phones, did you use your own email address or theirs?

Try these steps:

  • Go to Third-party apps & services from your Google Account > Remove Wyze Home's access.
  • Clear the app cache. Open your phone’s Settings > Apps > Select the Google Home app (and the Wyze Home app) > Tap Storage, and then tap Clear cache.
  • Force close and reopen the Google Home app, then link the Wyze Home again.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex

Thank you for the reply. That did not work. After the force close, I tried restarting my phone and tried again to link with no luck.

On using other family member's phones, I used their Google Home app with my Wyze login. We are all listed under one Household and they are listed as a Manager.  For Bluestacks, I used my Google and Wyze logins.

More to add:

Even though I get the same error when attempting to link Google Home and Wyze home ("Could not reach Wyze home. Please try again. "), Wyze does reappear as linked under my Google Account, Third-party apps & Services

Hi there,

Have you tried contacting Wyze’s support? Kindly contact them to check if there’s an update with their integration with Google Home.

Sincerely,
Alex

I did with two different trouble tickets. The first one, they blamed Google and closed the ticket. The second one, they said they were out of troubleshooting ideas, submitted my log file to their engineers, and closed the ticket.

I downloaded and installed 2022 versions of Google Home and Wyze Home apps from Uptodown to see if that would work, with no luck with the apps linking. I see the Wyze link reappear under Third-Party apps, though.

Any other troubleshooting ideas?

Thank you

I may have figured out the problem. I created a new Wyze login, and that account is linking fine. I have ~30 Wyze devices in my main account, and I think the Google Home app is timing out before retrieving them all. Is there a way to check without me deleting devices one by one from my Wyze account in case this is not the problem?

Hello James618,

It’s good to know that you’re able to isolate what causes this behavior. We have limited troubleshooting for third-party devices. Looking into this, it has something to do with the Wyze account. I know you already contacted Wyze support twice, but it’s better to get assistance from them and check if there’s another option for you to change the account link to your 30 Wyze devices.

Kind regards,
Alex

I deleted Wyze devices from my Wyze account until I had 20 devices. At that point, I was able to relink Google Home and Wyze Home together. I then went into the Wyze app and re-added the 10 devices. I then told Google to resync my devices, and everything works fine now.

I hope this thread will help anyone who may have the same problem.

Thank you again.
