Lights off command turns off everything

Hi Everyone

Weird issue, as I've had the same setup for many years....

I have multiple smart devices setup across multiple rooms in my house. I have a room called Office, in which I have a power outlet (desk) and 2 more power outlets setup as lights, to control the lights.

What's recently started to happen is that when I say Hey Google Lights Off, it also turns off the Desk outlet

Today I've tried changing the Desk device type to TV, and the Lights Off command still turns the Desk off. I've then tried removing the Desk from the Office room, and the Lights Off command does NOT turn the desk off. Therefore I figure it's an issue with the room.

So next I've removed all devices from Office, then re-added them to Office. Changed the Desk back to power outlet, and the problem is back again.

Any ideas anyone?!

depending on the brand of smart outlet, google may be reading it as a "light", you may need to change the type of outlet in the original app (IE the Kasa app)

It's a Tapo brand smart plug, and it is set as a power outlet in both the tapo app and Google home app

Maybe try Reconnecting the Tapo app to the Google Home app before using @Ashepherdson  suggestion of resetting the plug. Ultimately a reset may be required, but your automations could be adversely affected by a reset.

My suggestion would be to factory reset the desk plug, and set it up from scratch.  I had a Kasa that did the same thing a while back, the factory reset fixed it.  Not sure if there was something cached.
