Manage speaker groups in Google Home

Hello, I want to manage Teufel Raumfeld speakers in Google Home to enable streaming music to more then one speaker. I am having two issues:

- I can't edit/delete old speaker groups as I keep getting the "You are not allowed to manage this group" error. I know that there is a workaround where you need to reset every single device involved but that's really not the user experience I am aiming at and it has been years since this issue was reported. Is this really still not fixed? I know that Google Home and Cast is technically free but I wonder if there is a way of requesting/speeding up fixing this bug.

- I can't create new groups. I see the speakers under "Local devices " in Google Home, I can control the volume  and all and the speakers are also listed in the existing speaker groups but when I try to create a new group it says "No device found in this speaker group". I already tried deleting the app cache and restarting the router.

Hi mangolassi,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing while you are trying to manage your Teufel Raumfeld speakers. I understand how frustrating it can be when things do not work as expected. But don't worry; help is here. In this case, I just need to ask for some information to provide the best solution:

  • Did you set up the Teufel Raumfeld speakers on their own app?
  • Where are you located?
  • Are you using the same account on the speakers app and on the Google Home app?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Jenny

Hello,

I'm located in Germany.

Yes, the speakers are set up in the Raumfeld app.

No, the Raumfeld app doesn't work with a Google account while the Google Home app does as far as I know.

Hi mangolassi,

Thanks for your reply and the information provided. I understand that you already set up the speaker on their own app and you are not using a Google account for the Raumfeld app. Let me tell you that it is necessary to link the devices to the same Google account to get them to work as expected.
Please let me know if you have more questions.

Best regards,
Jenny

Hello, how do I connect the Raumfeld app to a Google account?

Hi mangolassi,

Thanks for your reply. I understand that you need to connect your Raumfeld app to a Google account. In this case, you need to use the same sign-in information that you use on the Raumfeld app to log in on the Google Home app; just keep in mind that it is necessary to have a Gmail account.
Please let me know if you have more questions during the process.

Best regards,
Jenny
