New Router Connection Issues

I originally had a google mesh router but it wasn't working good so I had to get a new router. After installing the new router, I had to change the wifi name because it didn't like special characters that I originally had. So now that I've renamed my wifi, I can't figure out how to update my google displays to show the new router name. It says I need to go to the Google Home app and update there however you need to be a rocket scientist to do this as I can't figure it out. I was able to update all my tvs, and other devices but Google is giving me a fit. I'm guessing once I figure out how to update my google display, I will be able to figure out how to do the Nest doorbell.

Hi allstar,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

I’m sorry to hear that you can’t update your Google displays to show the new router name. Thank you for letting us know that you already were able to update all your TVs and other devices, and now you need to update your Google Display and your Nest Doorbell. No worries, help is here.

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

  • What is the model of your new router?
  • What is the model of your Google display?
  • What type and model of Google Nest Doorbell are you using? (wired or with battery)
  • Could you please confirm if you are using the Google Home app or the Nest app to set up your Google Nest Doorbell?
  • Do you have the latest version of the Google Home app or the Nest app?
  • What mobile device are you using to set up your devices?

Thanks for your kind attention; I will be looking forward to your answer.

Best regards,

Virna
