I have essentially the same issue as described in this thread, but since the discussion is closed, I am opening a new one.
I have a setup with two Google Nest speakers and one Sonos speaker. Each family member has a smartphone, and my kids’ accounts are managed through Family Link. I would like to assign a Google Nest Mini speaker to each of my children.
However, when I try to add my kids to my Google Home, I receive a message stating that child accounts cannot be added to a home and should instead be added to a device. When I follow the provided link to do this, I encounter an error message: "Can't set up parental controls. It looks like parental controls aren't available at the moment..."
Other methods to achieve this either don't work or result in the same error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I reached out to Google Family Link support, but they informed me that this is an issue with Google Nest rather than Family Link. I then contacted Google Nest support and had a chat with them, but the response I received was not very helpful.
I am confident that all accounts are set up correctly. The issue has persisted for several weeks, so it does not appear to be temporary. I also tried removing and re-adding my Nest speaker, but the problem remains.
