Upon arriving home the light set up to turn on came on but our Google Nest 3rd gen thermostat failed to return to set temperature and remained on Eco.
Any ideas why this would be?
Thanks

Hello MioandZola,
Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I'd love to know more about this.
I understand that the Nest thermostat should switch to a regular temperature schedule when it detects a movement. But there are cases in which presence sensing and geolocation could cause confusion. Were there any other mobile devices that contributed to the Home and Away Assist? If so, make sure to enable the primary and other devices in the same settings.
Please have a look at this article and let us know if you need more help.
Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark
Many thanks for contacting on this issue. The thermostat setting to detect movement is off, we only use two phones for presence sensing purposes which are correctly set up with location tracking on.
The issue seems to me that the app isn't sending relevant information to the thermostat automatically. Example that occured today, both phones were away from home. The Google Home app showed that we were away but the thermostat remained unchanged. Using the Home app l manually changed the thermostat to eco. Upon arriving home l checked the home app, it showed me as being home but the thermostat remained on eco. I know the home app sent a message to a light bulb to come on because that came on yet the thermostat doesn't change.
On a side note, would you know why light bulbs would turn on when arriving home when still daylight. Makes no sense, surely would come on only at night.
Thanks
Lee

Hey there,
I'm sorry for the delay and thanks for the details. Do you have the Home and Away Routines enabled? If so, please check for any unnecessary actions and adjust or remove if needed due to unexpected behavior that could cause confusion for your Nest Thermostat and smart lights.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Mark
