Wipe Google Home Profile

Hi All. Yesterday I wanted to add a third party to a Google Home account, however it said no compatible devices, eventhough the app said they were compatible devices for Google Assistant. Obviously that's a problem in itself, but ever since trying to troubleshoot that, the Google Home account has become completely corrupt. It will now not connect to any service, including the ones that were working, even if I go to account permissions and delete all third parties. Even the apps themselves can't disjoin. If I use a different Google account everything works fine

I have tried deleting the home app, clearing cache, deleting apps re-signing in, it's clear the issue is with the Google account.

If I use a different Google account everything connects and works fine (except for the original issue).

Symptoms:

Third party apps all control devices fine.

Home error "Could not reach <service>. Please try again"

Trying to add from different (iOS) device "Successfully linked <null>" but no devices added.

Google Home app returns to the favourites page and nothing added, yet the service is relinked in the account permissions.

Beyond creating a new Google account, what can be done? Is it possible to delete the account's home profile (not just the home)?

When devices are being controlled correctly I usually just Reconnect the Third party app to the Google Home app in Settings...Works with Google.

It's more than that. I can delete the home, delete the connections and same symptoms. Replicate in a different Google account and it all works fine.

Also when paired with the corrupt account, I cannot disjoin from the third party app, but I can with the working account.

The corrupt account can now not see any devices, even ones working before from home app.

Hi @nicknz,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing some issues with your Google Home account regarding an issue when you try to connect third-party devices to a specific account. I understand how frustrating this issue might be, but I appreciate that you let me know about the error message you are receiving and the troubleshooting steps you've already tried! I'd be happy to help you with this.

Before we can move forward, could you just confirm if you're using a personal or a workspace account?

Once you're ready with that, I'll be more than happy to provide assistance.
