Battery Nest Cam - getting it to connect to a new WIFI

Hi everyone

I’m trying to get my wireless nest cam back up and running after moving it onto a new wireless network.

So far, I have deleted it from my Google Home / Nest app and reset it by holding down the reset button with a toothpick for 5 seconds (as per directions found online).

When I install it back into the Google Home app, it starts off well.   I add it to the account, plug it in and it chimes and the white light shows.  so far so good.

According to the set up, this should then turn to a blue light before I move to the next step.  It never turns blue but eventually goes green instead.  The set up steps then display an error message.

Have I not factory reset it correctly? Did I only restart it? I can’t find any definitely answers in the other posts about what the difference between the two procedures is.  (I’m holding down the reset button for 5 seconds)

All help gratefully received!

Pressing the reset pin/button for 5 seconds are the instructions for "restarting" the battery camera. The instructions for a "factory reset" are to remove it from the Google Home app. The manual "factory reset" instructions call for pressing the reset pin/button for at least 12 seconds, until the status light blinks yellow 4 times after 10 seconds and you hear a countdown tone, and then at 12 seconds the status light is a steady solid yellow and you hear a confirmation tone:

What "error message" did you get?

Thank you! This is exactly the info I was after (and suspected that my factory reset wasn’t a full reset).

I held the button for much much longer and heard the three tones and got the yellow button.   After a few failed WIFI connection attempts after this, it then went further through the new set up procedure and we are back up and running 🥳🥳🥳
