Bought google nest 3rd generation. New chime. Push doorbell chime dings one time then loud buzzing sound for 5 seconds then a ding. Changed transformer from 16v 30va to 24v 40va  no difference. Bought new nest 3rd generation no change. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Hi Miketeresa2009,

Thank you for posting in this community.

I understand that you've installed a new Nest Doorbell (wired, 3rd gen) but you are getting a buzzing from your indoor chime right after the initial ding. I appreciate the troubleshooting efforts you've already taken, including upgrading your transformer from 16V 30VA to 24V 40VA. I'm happy to look into this for you.

To assist you better, please answer these questions:

  • Are you able to see your doorbell live feed on your mobile device?
  • Do you have an electronic or mechanical chime?
  • If you are using an electronic chime, is it enabled in the Google Home app settings?
  • What is the current status of the Nest doorbell LED light?
  • What is the specified voltage rating of your indoor chime?

Could you please send me the following photos:

  • A photo of the wiring at the chime.
  • A photo of the wiring at the transformer (if it’s accessible for you).
  • A photo of the wiring of the Nest Chime Connector.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Virna

I changed my doorbell chime to Wasserstein. But doorbell will not connect to WiFi. I hope you received the photos. I’m trying to do this from my iPhone.
Thanks Mike

Hi Miketeresa2009,

Thank you for your continued engagement on this thread. I apologize, but I did not receive the photos you mentioned.

If you are unable to attach the screenshot directly, sharing a link to the picture would be very useful for checking what is happening with your chime and your new Nest Doorbell (wired, 3rd gen).

I am pleased to provide instructions for attaching a picture or screenshot in this thread:

  • Click the reply button in this thread.
  • Click on the camera icon located in the toolbar at the top of your reply.
  • A frame will appear; tap on "Choose files".
  • Select the photo, screenshot, or image that you want to attach.
  • Tap "Open" and the photo will appear in the frame.
  • Tap "Done" and your picture, screenshot, or image will appear in the reply box.
  • Tap the reply button to send.

Please include the requested information, and also address my previous questions, so we can continue troubleshooting and find a solution.

Best regards,

Virna

There is no camera icon for me to tap on. Earlier today there was but none at this moment.
