Camera's keep going offline

My alerts keep saying Garage Camera and also my Backyard camera-make sure its powered on and connected to wifi. We have it plugged in to an outlet so its always charged. Lately it keeps giving me the same messages 10x a day for each camera. We have done a factory default, we have restarted our WIFI, we have done pretty much everything that past feeds on here told us to do. Is there any other options? I should also mention I even upgraded our wifi to faster speeds, and still not working.

It stinks when the backyard camera goes off cause lately we have skunks, 2 foxes in our backyard and do not want to have my two dogs get hurt or worse get skunked.  Please help......

I'm just another Google Nest customer but if TWO of our cameras started going offline 10 times a day, I would be wondering about our Wi-Fi signal strength or some other issue with our Wi-Fi network. We have had a battery camera for a year and a half now--plugged in with the optional power cable--and it's always "Live" and online, as are our older cameras and doorbells.

SAME!

I have checked my wifi, even had them come out. My wifi has been working better than before stronger connection, but yet my cameras still go off. My nest doorbell and other nest camera never do that.

Is this place just for venting, or do the questions actually get answered or advised? I have the same exact problem. I even bought the most expensive wifi extenders, one for each camera ( back yard & garage).

And right now? The cameras are offline, and the spotlights are stuck ON and I can't turn them off.

And it's not the WiGi, because my doorbell is working perfectly.

@msvickilynn Did yours ever get resolved? I have looked thru every chat group there is to find the solution to this problem. I still have yet to get an answer.

So this is what I'm going to try. I called my IP (T-Mobile) and requested a new Gateway device. I will let you know if anything changes.

Hey there,

Thanks for bringing this up to me, I'd love to take a look into this for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This might be helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

Best regards,
Brad

Still no help!

Okay, I'm back. I had my TMobile Gateway replaced, the WIFI extenders are working fine. I am still having the same issues. My cameras take a break when they feel like it. Nothing to do with the WIFI, because when that happens, I test my speeds and I average 92.7  / 30.9

And that is with me sitting in the room, above the garage when the main camera and extender are within 3 feet away.

@msvickilynn

I keep wondering--as just another Google Nest customer--why our cameras and doorbells (Nest Hellos, not the new ones) are online all the time, with 2 wired Linksys Wi-Fi routers as access points in addition to our router/modem.

It's a guessing game & it shouldn't have to be. Bottom line, we get what we pay for - or in our case, what we don't pay for ... a monthly service.

hi so does my doorbell camera ! I have to turn my Wi-Fi off and on again to get it to work

Hello everyone,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

@Nnedza728 and @msvickilynn, are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the camera?

I’ll look forward to your responses.

All thanks for your help, @MplsCustomer, @Dianahemes, Brad, and @carolyndobson45

Best,

Zoe

no it’s my doorbell camera I’ve changed over to 2.4gh and it’s a lot better but so far it did it again only once about a week after

No. Bottom line - these are POS cameras, period.

No amount of top quality internet and repeaters will solve junk cameras. Waste of my time, money and effort! They are going in the trash.

Is there a fix.. seems like a common issue with cameras loosing network connection.
