Can no longer access Nest doorbell QR code

Jjherbs

Really hoping someone can help. My nest doorbell camera lost connection to my Wi-Fi and the only way I could reboot it was removing the camera  from the Nest app. Now I want to re-add the camera to the app but I need the QR code.  However the QR code is on the back of the nest doorbell which I cannot access as it is hardwired to the front of my house. Any ideas how to get the nest doorbell off without breaking it?! Or find the QR code another way? I no longer have the box ! Thanks so much, Jemima

I have exactly the same problem. I advanced a little more, I disarmed the doorbell that was embedded in the wall, breaking my forehead a bit to access the QR but it was already blurred and I cannot read the QR, nor the 6-character Code. I only have the Serial that was in the box.

I read in a forum that it can also be linked to the serial number, but the App does not allow me to enter it.

It is a very serious problem because without this code the device does not work!!!

hope someone help us

Thank you!!

Unfortunately, Google Nest does not give us the option to reinstall a doorbell or camera using the serial number, although it sometimes asks you to verify the serial number after you have first scanned the QR code or 6-character Setup Code. Because of this, we've written down the 6-character Setup Code for each camera and doorbell for years.

Sadly, there's not much choice except to dismount your doorbell to access either the QR code or Setup Code on the back of the doorbell.

Hello everyone,

@Jjherbs and @pulpobonet thanks for reaching out here in the Community and for sharing with us your concern. I suppose you have the 1st gen Nest Hello Doorbell because you're able to remove it from your Nest app. If that's the case you may play this video in this link and skip it to 6:26 mins. You'll be able to see here how you can remove it easily using the release tool.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Emerson

Hello, first of all, thank you very much for answering!
I think my problem was misunderstood. My problem is not that I can't link my doorbell to the app again because the QR code and the 6-character code are blurred. I only have the license number... can you help me please?

Hi pulpobonet,

Thanks for getting back to us. QR code and 6 digit entry key is required during installation. They are unique to each Nest device. License numbers or Serial numbers are not required for the installation. Let us know if you have more questions.

Best,
Emerson
