Changed wifi-password - unable to factory reset camera

I have two older nest cameras which has been working fine.

I few months ago I changed my WiFi-password and since then I have not been able to reinstall the cameras.

The cameras does not have a reset button as they are the older version.

Just re-adding the cameras in the nest-app results in error code C102

connecting them to my MacBook results in an error code since the dmg is to old and not supported any more.

what should I do?

@Eplle

I'm just another Google Nest customer, but my understanding is that, since the 1st gen cameras have no factory reset button, you can change a camera's Wi-Fi in only these two ways, while you are still on your previous Wi-Fi network so that you can communicate with the camera:

1) Remove the camera from the Google Nest app.

2) If the camera permits it, go to Settings | Home info \ Home Wi-Fi help and change the settings.

If you can't change your network name (SSID) and password on your new router/modem to the values used on your old router/modem, then you might have to wait for up to 60 days for your Nest Aware history to expire (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9249728).

Thank you for the reply!

Waiting 60 days, is that after I removed the camera from my account or 60 days after they were latest connected to the WiFi?

@Eplle

I only know what's in Google Nest's Help topic, but I suppose it would be 60 days after Google Nest's servers last had contact with your camera.

If you removed your camera from the Google Nest app while still on your old Wi-Fi, that should have factory reset your camera. I don't know why you're getting a C102 error. You could try checking the troubleshooting steps listed under that error code here:

Even though I switched modems and internet  i still can't get cameras to connect . We're working fine with old modem. Unbelievable that they just can't let you hit a changed wifi and modem button and let you reconnect. Been fighting this for 3 hrs.

Hi Mikey1969,

Thanks for your post here in the community. I understand how inconvenient it can be that your Nest Cameras won't connect despite switching modems and internet service. They worked perfectly with the old setup. No worries, help is here!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions

@MplsCustomer, thanks for your help, that's a great resource for everyone!

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany
