Changing wifi for Cameras and Doorbells

I have a new wifi system and need to change over my doorbell and 2 outdoor cameras.   Is the only way to change wifi systems is to "remove device" and lose all your video history?  If so, this is not a great option.

Google Nest's first recommendation is to use the same network name (SSID) and password on your new router/modem that you used on your old router/modem. If you can do that--and if it works, you won't have to do a factory reset and lose your video history. We did that when we got a new Wi-Fi router/modem.

Thank you @MplsCustomer

It is good to know this is really the only option.  It is disappointing this is the case as I will not be keeping the same SSID/password.  Very inconvenient and surprising this is the only option but it is what it is...

I am having issues connecting outdoor Nest Camera to my new Wifi. I just upgraded my Wifi with my internet provider, Cox. I saw some instructions online and I removed the device from my Google Home. When I go to add new device, the Nest Outdoor Camera, and enter the Serial Number and also reset the Camera, and also turned on and off the Airplane mode on my phone ... It still does not Connect. I get the message "Something went wrong". Please help!

You cannot install a Google Nest camera using its serial number. You can use either the QR code or the 6-character alphanumeric setup code.

Did you perform a factory reset on your 2nd gen battery camera (the only outdoor camera installed in the Google Home app) before attempting the reinstall?  Was your camera plugged into power during the install?
