Dog detection

I bought the Google Nest Camera for security and to see which dog is digging holes in my back yard. I even set up zones. I get home and find holes and as I go thru the history, I get nothing but after the fact. 

so this concerns me bc will it catch an unwanted person in my back yard as he/she comes in or after he/she leaves?

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries; we'll check this out. Just a few questions: Do you have an active Nest-aware subscription? Have you created new Activity Zones? And did you turn on the visible events for Animals? Here are the steps: Open the Google Home app, select the camera, tap on settings, select Events, tap Seen Events, and turn on animals and people.
