I appreciate this has been mentioned last year, but seeing if there has been any update - I bought the battery doorbell 2 weeks ago and love the fact it rings my google devices in my home, my old doorbell didn’t and I often missed visitors….. however this comes with a massive compromise— seriously no persistent notification on the phone??? I know u get a single notification, but in a busy supermarket there is no way of hearing that - sorry google but you have just rendered the doorbell virtually useless when your not at home.. major major floor!!! , I thought the main concept of a video doorbell was so that you can handle visitors at your door whilst you where not at home, but not possible unless you hold the phone to your face whilst shopping…please fix this soon, seriously I dumbfounded how such an obvious feature is completely missing 👎👎👎👎👎

With "Visitor announcements" turned on, our Google Nest Hello Doorbells broadcast an announcement to all of our Google Nest Hubs; in fact, that notification is usually faster and more consistent than the one to our phones.

Totally agree, I just posted a question about this as when I first bought my nest hello it did used to ring my phone!

Does this mean google removed this feature? Why? Will they be bringing it back?
I'll ask in here as I didn't get a reply to my post
03-29-2022 08:21 AM
The new Nest Doorbell (battery) does not have a ring, it sends a notification to your phone, but will ring through any smart displays or smart speakers instead.
Best regards,
Brad.

Sorry Brad, thats not really what I was asking. Please can you reply to my post?

That issue is ongoing. I cannot provide you with further information until I am provided with that information by Google. Thank you for your patience.

Brad.

WHY?!
I've been tearing my hair out trying to get the doorbell to ring on my phone (like it used to)!
Has this vital facility really been removed???!
If so, it is now USELESS!

Still no answer!
08-27-2022 01:24 AM
So *WHY* have none of my questions been answered with this absurd piece of news?!!!
What is the point of a remote doorbell thar doesn't ring remotely?!!!
08-27-2022 01:22 AM
Has this been answered?
I've been asking the same but get no proper answer!
08-14-2022 11:19 PM
Hi PeakSteve,
I'm sorry to hear that. I understand that you'd like to ring your phone when your Nest Doorbell detects an event. Let's check this out — a few questions:
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks,
JT

Doorbell is wired (24V transformer and *indoor Bell* is working OK)
However, my *phone* no longer goes "ding-dong" when the bell push is pressed. (It used to).
But I *do* get push notifications for movement, etc.
The problem may have begun when I changed phones; currently a Samsung Galaxy A52s.
Thank you.

Hi PeakSteve,
Got it, thanks for the information. Getting a phone ring tone from when there's a notification from your Nest Hello doorbell is a feature of your Android phone not of the doorbell.
Give these steps a try:
To turn on Sound Notifications, follow these steps:
Let me know if that helps.
Thanks,
JT

You don't seem to be getting my responses!

There has been no definitive answer, but a lot of allusions.
So, please answer this:
Did Google disable the ability to notify a * doorbell press* on mobile phones?
e.g. when the Nest Hello push button is pressed, a specific notification is sent to the associated mobile phone(s). A " Ding dong", if you like.
Yes or no?
This is *not* the same as movement or sound notifications, it USED to work, and has nothing to do with wired/battery/sounders/notifications on/.
If they did disable this facility, when?
If so, they have rendered the product unfit for the purpose for which was sold, under UK trading law, and probably of false/misleading advertising.
A remote doorbell that doesn't ring remotely is like a car with no wheels!

You get a notification, on the iPhone that’s a single beep.. The question was, we want the notification to be persistent, I.e a ringing phone, as a single notification is no help when ur in a busy shop.. It’s a massive flaw in the product and other door bells do ring ur phone- Not sure if that’s the same issue you are seeing

I understand you are upset, and I would be too if I were in your shoes, but if you would like to look into this further, please reach out to Support for further assistance.

It doesn't! So *where* do I find the on/off for the push notifications for <Button Pressed>?
Not <Movement Detected>, but ***<Button Pressed>*** ???
Thank you.

Hey there,
I am terribly sorry to hear that you're having this issue with your Nest camera! I'm sure it's frustrating but I'm happy to look into this and see how we can help out. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to Restart your device. By doing this, it should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.
Best regards,
Brad

Brad, this is not solved - we understand google home rings inside the house but we want our phones to ring when the doorbell is pressed!!!!, when we say ring, we mean more than the single notification we currently get…
09-02-2022 09:47 AM
I am afraid, with the 2021 Nest Doorbell (battery), it does not give an audible chime/ring. You only get a notification unless you have your doorbell connected to a Nest Hub, or Nest mini or any compatible smart speaker or display.
Best regards,
Brad
09-02-2022 09:55 AM
Brad, you are missing the point… please read my response again, thanks
09-02-2022 10:00 AM
To confirm, I understand what you are asking and this is not a possibility. You get a single notification per time the button is pressed. There is no audible chime option unless you have a smart speaker/display set up. Just a single notification per visitor. Please let me know if I am still misunderstanding your inquiry.
Best regards,
Brad

I want a persistent notification to ring my phone - quite simply, other door bells do it- point is, if this is not possible, then the away from home function is pretty useless
09-02-2022 10:45 AM
Seeing as that is not a current feature, I would suggest you provide your feedback in the app. I cannot guarantee the feature will become available.
Best regards,
Brad

But it USED to work!
I.e. my phone USED to go "ding dong" when the Nest Hello button was pressed.
If its primary purpose,-for which it was purchased - has been disabled by the manufacturer, it is not " fit for purpose" under UK Trading Descriptions, and I want my money back!
I still can't believe this utter stupidity!
09-03-2022 02:02 AM
Perhaps someone could supply an address to write to, and we could ALL demand a full refund?
08-27-2022 01:19 AM
The problem is NOT resolved.
09-03-2022 06:34 AM
We've had at least one Google Nest Hello Doorbell for over 3 years. When a doorbell is pressed, we get a single notification with sound on our phones and tablets, unless sound is muted on the device. We've never gotten a "ding-dong" or a "persistent notification".
