Doorbell (battery) battery not charging

Help! My Nest system was installed last week. Without notice my doorbell was offline due to empty battery. When I tried (on several charging cords and power sources) to charge the battery, the battery will not charge. I cannot get the white light to show, and cannot do a reset. What happened? How do I fix this?
