Doorbell (battery) won't do factory reset.

I'm experiencing the same issue as described in the thread linked below. While I can perform a restart (white light turns on), the device won't initiate a factory reset (no yellow light, even after holding the pin for over a minute).

This is quite frustrating, as the device wasn't cheap, and I expected it to last for few years. I'm completely disappointed.

Does anyone have a solution? Alternatively, can I take this device to a Google store for repair? I'm located in the UK.

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I'm sorry that your Nest Battery Doorbell is unable to factory reset. I understand how frustrating this can be. Let's work together to find a solution.

I just want to confirm if you did the below steps to do a proper factory reset:

  1. Plug the Nest Battery Doorbell into a power source.
  2. Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the doorbell.
  3. The reset pin on the Nest Doorbell (battery) is located below the USB port on the back of the doorbell.
  4. Insert and hold the pin (you can use an unfolded paperclip or a thumbtack):
  • At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you'll hear a countdown tone.
  • At 12 seconds, the status light will be steady, solid yellow while the doorbell starts the factory reset, and you'll hear a confirmation tone.

     5. Release the button. Your doorbell will restore to its factory settings.
