Doorbell not sending notifications anymore

Good morning,

I have a Nest Doorbell (battery) that until about 10 days ago had been sending notifications to my phone without issue. However, after purchasing a Pixel tablet and setting that up, notifications are not being sent to either device.

The closed I have come to resolving the issue is when I cleared the cache for the Home app on my phone, which made notifications work for a few hours. But since then clearing the cache fails to even temporarily solve the issue.

Note also that nothing about my internet provider or Wi-Fi has changed, and no other devices are experiencing issues; I have several Google Home/Nest minis and Nest Hub, all of which are still getting notifications when the doorbell is pressed. I can also see that events are being recorded by the doorbell when I inspect the history from my phone.

Here is a list of the actions that I have tried, in order.

  • Ensure notifications are turned on for the Home App (specifically for the doorbell).
  • Ensure 'your notifications' for 'people' are active in my zones.
  • Cleared cache on Home App (both devices). As mentioned above, in the first instance this seemed to fix the issue, but only for a few hours.
  • Reinstalled Home App (both devices) and reinstalled.
  • Factory reset new Pixel tablet to ensure profile was removed. Going forward, only my phone is now in use.
  • Cleared cache on Home App.
  • Reinstalled Home App.
  • Deleted and recreated my zones.

Needless to say that having spent hundreds of pounds on Google products, to have this not work is extremely dissapointing.

I can find a lot of posts with people having similar issues, but no definitive answer on how to resolve the issue. How can I fix the issue?

Same issue. Stop working a week ago. I guess we have to wait until the next update

I also have the same issue. The only time I receive the notifications is if I have the live feed open when an event happens. Super annoying. I got it as a present in May and after the last update on 6/14 it stopped working properly.

Had to add Google Home to my work iphone to get notifications. Still not working on my Galaxy fold

I am having the same problem.  No more notifications from my cameras after updating my new phone.  Any answers from Google would be great.

On my side, I uninstalled and re-installed the GOOGLE HOME application and the notifications are back. But I had to do it 3 times already since the beginning of the issue.
